The 2006-2016 flags

The 2006 flag is a dark green flag showing the head of a pharaoh with the double crown Pschent for Upper and Lower Egypt. This symbol was chosen for the coat of arms of the governorate in 2010. On the flag in the governor's reception room, below the coat of arms, there is still an Arabic inscription, probably the name of the governorate.
Ian MacDonald, 28 February 2021

The 2016 version shows "Muhafazah Sawhaj" in Arabic (for "Sohag Governorate"), as seen on the internet on a white field.
