The municipality of Padules (500 inhabitants in 2013; 2,700 ha; municipal website) is located in the upper valley of river Andarax, 50 km north-west of Almería.
Klaus-Michael Schneider, 23 October 2012The flag and arms of Padules, adopted on 13 July 1994 by the Municipal Council and validated by the Royal Academy of History of Cordóba, are prescribed by Decree No. 252, adopted on 10 October 1995 by the Government of Andalusia and published on 14 December 1995 in the official gazette of Andalusia, No. 158, pp. 11,653-11,654 (text). This was confirmed by a Decree adopted on 30 November 2004 by the Government of Andalusia and published on 20 December 2004 in the official gazette of Andalusia, No. 246, pp. 28,986-29,002 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:
Flag: Rectangular flag in proportions 2:3, made of a white panel crossed by a diagonal blue stripe running from the hoist's lower angle to the fly's upper angle and charged with two green disks in vertices.
Coat of arms: Argent a lion gules crowned or holding a bunch of grapes vert. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.
