The flag of Pechina, adopted on 16 July 1998 by the Municipal Council and validated on 17 December 1998 by the Royal Academy of Cordóba, is prescribed by Decree No. 36, adopted on 23 February 1999 by the Government of Andalusia and published on 18 March 1999 in the official gazette of Andalusia, No. 33, p. 3,298 (text). This was confirmed by a Resolution adopted on 30 November 2004 by the Government of Andalusia and published on 20 December 2004 in the official gazette of Andalusia, No. 246, pp. 28,986-29,002 (text).
The flag is described as follows:
Flag: Rectangular flag, in length (from hoist to fly) one time and a half the width, green. The municipal coat of arms is placed in the middle of the flag.
The coat of arms of Pechina, adopted on 8 November 1993 by the Municipal Council and revised on 26 February 1997, as suggested on 30 January 1997 by the Royal Academy of Cordóba, is prescribed by Decree No. 162, adopted on 24 June 1997 by the Government of Andalusia and published on 19 July 1997 in the official gazette of Andalusia, No. 83, p. 8,593 (text). This was confirmed by a Resolution adopted on 30 November 2004 by the Government of Andalusia and published on 20 December 2004 in the official gazette of Andalusia, No. 246, pp. 28,986-29,002 (text).
The coat of arms is described as follows:
Coat of arms: Gules a 16-rayed sun or surrounded dexter by a Corinthian column ensigned by a bishop's mitre all proper [white] and sinister by an Islamic column ensigned by a two-sailed Moorish boat all argent, in base waves argent and azure. A bordure or charged with eight scallops gules. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.
The columns symbolize the splendour of the town in the Roman and Islamic periods. The mitre is a reference to St. Indalecio, who converted the population to the Christian religion. The baot alludes to the significance of maritime trade during the Nasrid period. The waves represents the proximity of the sea and of a big river. The scallops symbolize the pechina, a mollusc used by the pilgrims of the Way of St. James.

On the flag in use, the coat of arms has nearly the total height of the panel.
