Presentation of Solana de Rioalmar

The municipality of Solana de Rioalmar (256 inhabitants in 2006; 3,714 ha; municipal website) is located 30 km west of Ávila. The population of the village peaked at 750 in 1960 and then dramatically decreased.

Symbols of Solana de Rioalmar

The flag and arms of Solana de Rioalmar are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 21 February 2005 by the Municipal Council, with "legal absolute majority", signed on 25 April 2005 by the Mayor, and published on 13 May 2005 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 91, p. 8,425 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Flag with proportions 2:3, tierced at hoist. At fly a yellow (or or) panel with a blue (or azure) horizontal stripe, at hoist, red (or gules) three yellow (or or) towers per pale.
Coat of arms: Shield of Spanish shape. Or, a saltire wavy azure and argent a bordure gules eight towers or. The shield surmounted with a Royal Spanish crown.
