"PAIX" flags

French versions of the Italian peace flag have the Italian word "PACE" (Peace) replaced by its French counterpart "PAIX" (from the same Latin origin, pax). The "PAIX" flags seem to be much less used than the original "PACE" flags.

Mouvement de la Paix (website), a pacifist association founded in 1948, sells a flag (A HREF="http://www.mvtpaix.org/boutique/achat/produit_details.php? id=54&catid=8">image) in proportions 2:3 (90 x 135 cm), horizontally divided dark blue-blue-light blue-green-yellow-orange-red, with "PAIX" in white letters on the light blue and green stripes. The placement of "PAIX" is similar to the placement of "PACE" on the newest Italian peace flag.
This flag was hoisted in different places (including the town hall) of the town of Aubagne, near Marseilles, on 21 September 2009 (Peace's Day) (photos).

A variant of the flag with the topmost purple stripe was carried from Mount Sinai to Santiago de Compostela (website).
Both variants of the flag seem to have been used together at anti-nuclear protests in Paris on 30 April 2010 (photo). The flag in the foreground clearly shows three shades of blue, while the one in the background might have purple topmost stripe, although it could be just another shade of dark blue/indigo, because it cannot be precisely distinguished from the photo - either variant is possible, knowing that these flags do not have fixed color shades, whichever the color pattern is.

A variant of the Italian rainbow flag (photo, Paris, 1 September 2009) is horizontally divided purple, dark blue, light blue, green, yellow, and orange red. "PACE" is inscribed in white over the light blue and green stripes, and a white peace dove is placed on the dark blue stripe, above the "E".
