Presentation of Markopoulo-Mesogaias

The municipality of Markopoulo-Mesogaias (Μαρκόπουλο Μεσογαίας, 20,040 inhabitants in 2011; 8,184 ha) is situated in the Mesogaia plain, touching the Aegean Sea coast in the east, where the port town Porto Rafti is located. The town of Markopoulo is in the western part of the municipality.
The municipality was not changed with the 2011 local government reform.
