Flag of Orehovica

The symbols of Orehovica (municipal website) are prescribed by Decision Odluka o donošenju grba i zastave općine Orehovica, adopted on 18 April 2002 by the Commission in charge of the selection of the symbols and not published in any official gazette. The adoption of the symbols was reported in the local newspapers Međimurje - županijske novine (Orah na grb i zastavu Orehovice, 4 June 2002) and Međimurske novine (Proslavljen Dan općine Orehovica, 5 June 2002).
The symbols were quickly (16 July 2002) approved by the Ministry of Justice, Administration and Local Self-Government.

The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka.

The flag is in proportions 1:2, light blue with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

The ceremonial flag (photo, photo) is a light blue gonfalon ending triangularly with a golden fringe along the bottom, with the coat of arms in the middle, the name of the municipality in two arches above and crossed branches of linden and elm below.
The branches symbolize the other two settlements in the community: the linden represents Vularija, which was known for honey production, and the elm represents Podbrest, whose name means "under the elm".
