Presentation of Hraščina

The municipality of Hraščina (1,826 inhabitants in 2001, 115 living in the village Hraščina) is located 30 km nort-east of Zagreb, towards Varaždin.
It is not quite clear how the name of the municipality should be spelled. The municipality uses "Hraščina" throughout its Statutes, while the County official gazette writes elsewhere "Hrašćina", and I believe that this is how it is spelled in the State Law on local administration. The local version is more in accordance with the local dialect.

Flag of Hraščina

The symbols of Hraščina are prescribed by Decision Odluka o izmjeni Odluke o grbu, zastavi i Danu Općine Hraščina, adopted on 29 November 1996 by the Municipal Council and published on 2 December 1996 in the County official gazette Službeni glasnik Županije Krapinsko-zagorske , No. 18.
Articles 7, 8 and 9 of the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Hrašćina, adopted on 20 September 2001 by the Municipality Council and published on 31 October 2001 in Službeni glasnik Krapinsko-zagorske županije, No. 14, include the description of the symbols. This is repeated in the current Municipality Status Status Opčine Hrašćina, adopted on 14 July 2009 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 31 July 2009 in Službeni glasnik Krapinsko-zagorske županije, No. 18 (text).

The flag is prescribed in proportions 1:2, sky blue with the coat of arms in the middle.
The flag is use (photo), however, is medium blue. When the current coat of arms was adopted in 1996, the flag description was not changed, retaining the flag field described as "sky blue", as for the 1994 flag. Hoxever, the 2001 and subsequent Statutes describe the flag being only "blue", although the 1994 Decision on flag is apparently still valid, and not being contradictory to the statutory prescription.

Former symbols of Hraščina

The former symbols of Hraščina are prescribed by Decision Odluka o izmjeni Odluke o grbu, zastavi i Danu Općine Hraščina, adopted on 31 January 1994 by the Municipal Council and published on 18 December 1995 in Službeni glasnik Županije Krapinsko-zagorske , No. 14.
This is actually a consolidated text, including the description of the new coat of arms prescribed by Decision Odluka o izmjeni Odluke o grbu, zastavi i Danu Općine Hraščina, adopted on 27 July 1995 by the Municipal Council and published on 10 August 1995 in Službeni glasnik Županije Krapinsko-zagorske , No. 9. Therefore, the description of the original coat of arms remains unknown to us. The new coat of arms is described as:

... in a shield shape. Divided into four fields, and in the centre partially covering them, is a yellow eight-pointed star. The top left field is red, the bottom left and the top right fields are green and the bottom right field is black.

The flag is prescribed in proportions 1:2, sky blue with the coat of arms in the middle.

The use of the symbols is regulated by Decision Odluka o uporabi grba i zastave Općine Hraščina, adopted on 16 November 1995 by the Municipal Council and published on 18 December 1995 in Službeni glasnik Županije Krapinsko-zagorske , No. 14.
