Presentation of Raša

The municipality of Raša (Italian, Arsia; 3,183 inhabitants in 2011, 1,444 in the village of Raša) is located about halfway between Rijeka and Pula, some 30 km north-east of Pula.
Raša is often nicknamed "The Youngest Town in Istria" since it was built in 1937 as a mining settlement; mining is still the most important industry there.

Flag of Raša

The symbols of Raša were adopted in November 2003, as reported by Krsitian Stepčić Reisman (Opcina Raša dobila novi grb - Rudarska svjetiljka kao putokaz za bolju budućnost, Ca je novega?, No. 3).

The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka, and approved by the Ministry of Administration / Central State Office for Administration before 2006.

The flag is in proportions 1:2, dark blue with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

The municipality also used a somewhat earlier variant from 2003, very similar to today's. The only difference was in the display of the flame.
