Description of the flag

éirígí [spelled as written here] is a small far-left political party which operates in both the Republic of Ireland and North Ireland. It was founded in 2006 as a breakaway group of Sinn Féin, which they considered not radical enough. The party name means "arise" (second person plural imperative) in Irish Gaelic. Its goal is a united Irish state, organized as a Socialist republic. Regarding the foreign policies, it is Eurosceptic and, like most of the other Irish Republican groups, anti-Israeli and pro-Palestinian. While frequently organizing protests, the party always conducts them in a non-violent way.

The party flag is white, charged with the large emblem in center. The emblem consists of the party name, inscribed in orange between two green bars, all placed beneath a large green five-pointed star star. The flag color set is thus the same as that of the national flag. The colors often look paler on the party flag. The star was chosen as the international Socialist symbol, although painted in green to match the rest of the emblem. Green parts of the emblem look as if they are partly erased or faded, or not painted completely (e.g. by spraying). The most usual ratio is 3:5, although 2:3 seems to be used as well.
