Golani and Israel flags in Hamas parliament

On 13 November 2023, Israeli Golani Brigade troops captured the Hamas parliament building in Gaza City. The photo shared from the soldiers shows the troops in the parliament waving Israeli flags and a yellow-green unit flag. One of the flags is a national flag with an olive tree, the symbol of the Brigade, in the center of the Star of David. The tree is part of several Golani Infantry troop flags (see this page).

Golani unit in Hamas Military Police HQ

Troops of the Golani Infantry Brigade, exactly the 13th "Gideon" Battalion, are reported to have captured the headquarters of Hamas' military police in the Gaza strip on Monday, 13th of November. The photo shows troops in a Hamas MP office, showing the flag of Israel and the Battalion flag. The unit flag is a yellow-green Brigade flag, defaced with a black olive tree surrounded by red wolves and the number 13 (The olive tree being the symbol of the Brigade). If we read correctly, the tree is framed by the Hebrew words "The silent wolves" (above) and "Operational" (below). The 13th Battalion suffered 41 killed (which are more fatalities than it suffered in the Six-Day War and Yom Kippur War combined) and 91 wounded in the October 7 attacks. (picture, source)
