Regional Council Yo'av is situated in the North Negev area and
unites 14 small settlements. It was established in 1952 and has
got 5,100 inh. It is named after the late Yitzhak Dubno
(nicknamed Yo'av), the first commander of Kibutz Negba
in the independence war of 1948. Regional Council Yo'av uses as
an unofficial flag its logo in blue on a white background.

The municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot),
YP 898, 28 December 1961.

Today I visited Regional Council Yo'av (situated near Re'em
Junction - Rds. 3 and 40) - flag as reported (bluu on White) but
without inscription.

This Regional Council govern 14 settlements: Bet Govrin, El
Ozi, Bet Nir, Gal'on, Gat, Veradon, Kefar HaRif, Kefar Mena'hem,
Negba, Na'hala, Segula, Kedma, Revadim and Sde Yo'av.
Flag: Dark blue emblem on white can be seen in photos at <www.yoav.org.il>., one of
them in front of Metzudat Yo'av (Yo'av Fort), the former
Iraq-Su'widan police fort - a scene for one of the more
bitter battles of the Independence war, and a national monument
nowadays.
