logo on a white field, reminiscent of Berlusconi's

PdL (Il Popolo della Libertà = The People of Freedom)
The PdL was
founded in 2008 as a merger of Berlusconi's
FI and Fini's
AN and a couple of smaller parties (Riformatori
Liberali, Azione Sociale, Democrazia Cristiana per le Autonomie, Popolari
Liberali, Italiani nel Mondo); a few other parties were loosely attached, but
remained autonomous. The PdL is the largest party of the center-right, being
described as liberal-conservative. Founding father Berlusconi is still very
strong, which led to several splits, particularly Fini's FLI. The party with its
partners won the 2008 elections, but narrowly lost in the February 2013
elections. It holds 97 seats in the Camera dei Deputati and 93 seats in the
Senato.
The first flag came in two versions: one showing only the logo on
a white field (top of this page) [1,2,3], the other adding the URL
www.votaberlusconi.it beneath (below) [3,4,5]. The logo is divided by a tricolour band into a light blue top (with the party name
in white) and a white bottom (with the blue inscription "BERLUSCONI
PRESIDENTE"). Although it was not clear, if Berlusconi would run as prime
ministerial candidate in the 2013 elections, these flags were still used.
The other symbol only shows the party name on a light blue field with the
tricolour band. The respective flag is rarely used (below) [6,7].
