The NPA is a small
social-liberal party founded in 2005. It sees itself as a refoundation the
historical Partito d'Azione (Action Party) of 1942-47. Although getting its
symbol registered for the February 2013 elections, in the end they did not
contest these elections. Instead, it was a minor part of the unsuccessful
Rivoluzione Civile list.
The symbol is orange over green; in the orange part
there is a book and a dagger over the inscription "Democrazia e legalità", in
the green part the party name in white; around the upper edge the inscription "Giustizia
e libertà". The dagger is a reference to the old PdA symbol, as is the slogan "Giustizia
e libertà" (Justice and Liberty). The party flag is white or orange with the
logo [1].

The shape of the dagger seems to resemble that of a pen.

Actually, it seems to be a sword, not a dagger, at least according to the
party statute: "si diparte una spada fiammeggiante con elsa di colore nero ed il
resto della spada di colore rosso vivo." "there is a flaming sword, the guard of
black colour and the rest of the sword of lurid red"
