SC is a centrist party, founded by
incumbent prime minister Mario Monti as a vehicle for the February 2013
elections. Although it is mainly composed of individuals, several of them
originating from other parties, some already existing parties are also taking
part, e.g. the UpT (Unione per il Trentino) governing in Trentino. Together with
UdC and FLI it formed the coalition "Con Monti per l'Italia" (With Monti for
Italy). In the elections, SC gained 36 seats in the Camera dei Deputati and 15
in the Senato.
The logo of the party shows the party name (in grey), a dynamic arrangement
of the Italian colours and the blue inscription "CON MONTI PER L'ITALIA". The
flag [1] is only vaguely derived from the logo, with a tricoloured diagonal
field separating a white top and a blue bottom, with the inscriptions as in the
logo, the bottom one white, though.
