Introduction

Before the second World War, Japanese Diet Representative Seigo Nakano founded the Japanese Fascist organization called "Tohokai (Eastern Society) in 1936. He met with with Mussolini (in 1937) and Hitler (in 1938). But he killed himself in 1943 after the being released from false charges, and Tohokai was banned after the end of WWII.
The flag of Tohokai was based on a Japanese character meaning "East."
Isao Endo (General Secretary of NSJAP), 29 November 1999

An actual physical flag of the Tohokai can be seen in a photo on the NSJAP site, whose graphics of this same flag are amusingly wrong.
