Description of the flag

The flag and emblem of Wajir County were approved by the County Assembly on 08 August 2014, according to a  notice published in the Kenya Gazette which can be seen here.

The flag comprises five unequal horizontal stripes.  The thin outer two stripes are tawny brown and emerald green, fimbriated in yellow.  The broad central stripe is white charged in the centre with a yellow crescent moon, reflecting the Islamic character of the county.

Former flag

Here is a re-construction of the former flag of Wajir County (2013-2014) which is based on 20 photos. In all cases, the photo showed the County Governor. The flag would therefore appear to be the flag of the county government or of the Governor of Wajir County. For general use, the flag was used without coat of arms.
