To quote the Lithuanian Heraldry Commission on Facebook, "The winged wheel symbolises the importance of the railway and the Saturday markets in the town's history." The symbols were designed by Rolandas Rimkūnas. The coat of arms was approved by presidential decree on July 21, 2023.
