Adoption of the Montenegro Army flags

The new flags and emblems of the Army of Montenegro, including the naval ensign and jack, were adopted on 25 June 2010 by the Government of Montenegro by the Ordinance on the emblems of the Army, the General Staff and the units of the Army of Montenegro (Uredba o oznakama Vojske, Generalštaba i jedinica Vojske Crne Gore).
According to the Analitika information portal, the 29 new flags prescribed by the Ordinance, presented during a press conference held on 28 July 2010, were to be ceremonially issued to the units on 7 October 2010 (Day of the Army of Montenegro) by the President Filip Vujanović. The article mentioned the names of some people who participated in the design of the symbols - Colonel Čedo Marinović, Chairman of the Ordinance Workgroup, who highlighted that the group worked following the heraldic principles, and Lieutenant Colonel Miroljub Atanasijević.

The new symbols are shown on the Army official website. They were presented during the Day of the Army of Montenegro, held on 7 October 2010 in the Danilovgrad military barracks (photo).

Unit flags

All military colors and pennants (the unit flags) adopted recently in Montenegro are seemingly two-sided - the obverse bearing a reference to the said unit and the reverse bearing a reference to the immediately superordinate unit.
