The coat of arms of Guanaceví was adopted in the year 2000, being created by Prof. Patricio Rivera Rivera. A ribbon wraps around the shield in the national colors for patriotism. Below is a ribbon reading the motto "Humanidad, Convicción, Fortaleza" [Humanity, Conviction, Strength]. A chimney goes through from behind the shield, a symbol of the town and its mining industry; it is seen in its town center. At the top are two crossed hammers for building. The shield is divided in half, with a triangle cutting to the top from bottom in the center. To the left, an image of a forest with a deer at sunset is showwn, the natural environment. Below, a stack of logs is seen, the municipality's natural resource. To the right, an image of a worker pushing a minecart out of the mine, with a view of the mountains in sight. Two cobs of corn are seen below for agriculture, while a head of cattle is seen below for the cattle-raising industry.
