Description: "In gold a narrowed blue fess; in chief with two black
eagle's wings, facing; in base with a red cooking pot".
The cooking pot is symbolic of St. Vitus, the patron saint. The eagle's
wings are a pars-pro-toto for the eagle from the Jarla family arms. The
blue fess represents the Jellegat (= Jarla's hole, a canal. It symbolizes
also the Jaarlasleat, which connects the canals of Paesens and the Dokkumer
Grootdiep.
