Montfort former municipality

Marcel van Westerhoven wrote me that the municipality of Montfort in Limburg province had a flag, before the merger in Ambt Montfort. According to Marcel that flag is now used as town-flag.
In DerkWillem Visser's "Gemeentevlaggen en wapens Koninkrijk der Nederlanden", 2001 is the old municipal flag of Montfort: "a yellow flag with a blue hoist-triangle reaching to flagcenter, charged with a yellow castle with two towers. Adopted 2 Oct 1990 by municipal resolution".
Jarig Bakker, 29 Oct 2004

The municipal flag of the former municipality of Montfort was designed by the Stichting Banistiek en Heraldiek. It tried to sell that idea to the municipality in 1988, but they were not interested. While municipal reorganizations were on their way the municipal council adopted it on 2 Oct 1990. On the last day of Montfort's independence the flag was hoisted for the first time. Later on it was used as village flag.

The flag is a complete derivation of the arms of the municipality of Montfort. The colors of the arms are or and azure (yellow and blue). The hoisttriangle symbolizes a mountain, which is also present on the arms.

Montfort Coat of Arms

[Montfort Coat of Arms] image by Jarig Bakker, 29 Oct 2004, after image in the Koffie Hag Album
Granted by Royal resolution 5 Jul 1887.

Description: : "azure a castle of two towers with two crosses, all or, standing on a mountain or hill of the same."
This is evidently canting: a "fort" (castle) on a "mont" (mountain)
