Gąbin - urban-rural commune, Płock County, Mazowieckie Voivodship - name under German occupation: Gombin (1943-45) when it was annexed to the Third Reich.
Gmina Gąbin is an urban-rural gmina (commune) in Płock County, Masovian Voivodship, in east-central Poland. Its seat is the town of Gąbin, which lies approximately 17 kilometres (11 mi) south of Płock and 89 km (55 mi) west of Warsaw.
Area: 146.71 sq.km (56.6 sq.mi); Population: 10,858
land under cultivation - 68%; forests - 20%
In 1974 the tallest radio mast in the world was erected here (646 m). It collapsed in 1991 due to an error of the maintenance crew.

Arms adopted on December 9, 2002 (resolution # 3/II/2002).
Flag not mentioned anywhere, but, again "a picture is worth a thousand words": speedwalking champion, Robert Korzeniowski (four Olympic gold medals - Atlanta,
Sydney (double) and Athens) is shown carrying the flag of Gąbin during annual relay run in 2008.
