Shield Gules, a branch of cork oak Argent fruited Or, flanked by two wheat ears Or, all tied Argent, in chief two ceremonial batons Or crossed per saltire. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black capitals: "CHANCELARIA - ALTER DO CHÃO".

Chancelaria Commune is one of the four communes of Alter do Chão Municipality (q.v.); it had 448 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 73.1 km².
