It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field vertically parted of green and yellow.

Shield Argent a pillory Argent (!) flanked by two cypresses Vert trunked proper, on chief dexter a decrescent Gules, on chief sinister an estoile Or (!).Mural corwn Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "VILA DE LALIM".

A vertical bicolour is not acceptable for an official communal flag in Portugal, and that is one more reason why (along with Argent and Or charges on Argent shield) it was never pre-approved by the CHAAP.

Lalim was one of the 14 communes of Lamego Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes; it had 659 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 7,22 km².
