It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain yellow field.

Coat of arms

Shield Azure, base wavy Argent semy of wavelets Azure, in centre an orb Or garnished Sable, in chief in each corner a Greek cross Gules with a fleur-de-lis Argent at either end (Port.: cruz flordelisada). Mural crown with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "BERTIANDOS".
The orb is an attribute of Jesus Christ as Divine Saviour, the local patron saint.

Bertiandos Commune is one of the 39 communes of the Ponte de Lima municipality (q.v.); it had 415 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 2.2 km².
