It is a fairly typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain red background (village rank).

The arms are Argent an olive tree eradicated Vert fruited Sable and in chief three jars Gules. Mural crown argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "CORVAL".
Meaning:
"_Corval_" means "place of crows" (or of ravens) in Portuguese, though probably not this toponym's etym. Either way, arms neither canting nor punning.

Corval Commune is one of the five communes of Reguengos de Monsaraz Mununicipality (q.v.); it had 1578 inhabitants in 2001 and covers 96,41 km².
