About the Flag

It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain white field.
António Martins-Tuválkin, 8 Mar 2016

Coat of arms

Shield Azure, a belfry Argent masoned Sable with bell Argent, in central chief a pair of crossed keys in saltire, the bendy one Argent and the sinister bendy one Or, in base two branches Or in saltire leaved of the Same. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "VILA BOA - SABUGAL".
The crossed keys are usually an attribute of St. Peter. But I don't know, how he is affiliated with the commune.
