The birds - the Portuguese name is "milheirinhos" allude to the name of the commune. The grid is an attribute of St. Laurence, the local patron saint. The green shield colour and the corn cobs (Portuguese: milho) are representing the agricultural production of the commune. The latters also are canting elements. Draft designed by José Bènard Guedes.
