It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain red field.

Coat of arms

Shield Or with base wavy of Azure and Argent, a grapevine Purpure leaved Vert at dexter, hammer and mallet Sable crossed per saltire at sinister, in chief a cross potent Gules charged with a Greek cross Argent, above the base wavy a wheel Vert. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "UNIÃO DAS FREGUESIAS DE ALÉM DA RIBEIRA E PEDREIRA".
Meaning:
The base wavy had been a common element of both former communes. Grapevine and wheel are representing former Além da Ribeira commune, cross, hammer and mallet former Pedreira commune.

It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain green field.

Coat of arms

Shield Or with base wavy of Azure and Argent, a flaming heart Gules, a grapevine Purpure leaved Vert, an olive branch Vert fuited sable and a 6-spokes wheel Vert, all ordered per cross. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "ALÉM DA RIBEIRA".
Meaning:
The heart is a representation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the local patron "saint".

Além da Ribeira Commune was one of the pre-2013 communes of Tomar Municipality (q.v.); it had 764 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 12.5 km².

Or field, a sable nebuly fess, charged with hammer and mallet crossed per saltire argent, in chief, a gules cross voided argent, in point 4 wavy fesses, 2 argent and 2 azure . Argent 3 towers mural crown(village rank). White scroll with inscription in black upper case letters "PEDREIRA - TOMAR".
Meaning:
Hammer and mallet are the symbols of mining. The cross is alluding to the of the Order of Christ Knights.
