Coat of arms

Shield Gules semy of olive twigs Or fruited Argent with base wavy of Argent and Azure, a Paschal Lamb passant Argent nimbed Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "S. JOÃO DO PESO".
Meaning:
The Paschal Lamb is an attribute of St. John the Baptist, name giver of the commune and probably also local patron saint.

São João do Peso Commune is one of the three communes of the Vila de Rei municipality (q.v.); it had 204 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 13.1 km².
