The shield of the arms is Vert with base wavy Argent charged with a barrulet wavy Azure, crowned by a single arched bridge Argent, masoned Sable, in chief a coronet of pearls Argent between two rye ears Or set in saltire. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "MOIMENTA - VINHAIS".

Presentation of Moimenta

Moimenta Commune, also known as Moimenta da Raia (English: "of the frontier") , was one of the pre-2013 communes of Vinhais Municipality; it had 168 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 17.4 km².

The shield of the arms is Vert, two chestnut trees Argent with their friut Or slit Gules, in chief a sinister bendy key Or on a bendy key Argent, both keys with their wards turn to the chief, issuant from base a mount of three coupeaux Sable with peaks Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "MONTOUTO - VINHAIS".
Meaning:
The crossed keys are an attribute of St. Peter, the local patron saint.
