Presentation of Banat Party

The Banat Party (Banatska stranka) was a regional political party struggling for improvement of the position of the region of Banat within the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and the Republic of Serbia.
In early 2009, the party merged into the Vojvodinian Party (Vojvođanska partija) and its flag went out of use.

Flag of Banat Party

The flag of Banat Party is a blue-yellow-green horizontal tricolour, with the party name inscribed in white along the blue stripe and a green trefoil in centre of the yellow stripe. The general design resembles that of the flag of the Vojvodina Coalition, but it was adopted independently.
The flag was frequently seen during the year 2004 in Zrenjanin, the town where I live and where is the seat of the party as well. It must have been adopted earlier, as its image made part of the party posters since 2001. Since 2004, the flag was rarely seen, as the party did not seem to be very active, but there are recent reports about its re-activating and there is also a new website of the party with a photograph (no longer online) on which the flag can be seen very well.
