The Vlach People's Party (website) was founded in 2004 as the Vlachs Democratic Party of Serbia. The present name was adopted in 2013.

After the renaming, the party flag (photos) kept the same basic design, only the inscriptions having been changed to display new name of the party in both Serbian and Romanian languages. The party website still showed the text of party Statutes before the renaming (page no longer online), so it is not clear if the the text was amended with the new party name. Regardless of that, the flag design still matches the old description, which does not mention the inscriptions on the flag, but only the central emblem.

The flag (photo, photo) is described in Article 4 of the party's Statutes, revised in 2010, as follows:

The flag is rectangular in sky blue colour of the European Union, with a sunflower in the center, which is surrounded by seven stars (seven Vla D;ići*, seven rivers in Eastern Serbia, seven geographical areas).
The party Day is 25th April - the founding day of VDPS.
Slava** (Praznic - praznjik) of VDPS is 2nd August - St Elijah's Day (Sf. Ilie - Sficiljia).
* The "seven Vlašiči" refer to the Pleiades or Seven Sisters - an open cluster of stars in the constellation of Taurus. These stars are important part of folklore in Serbia and surrounding parts and their name seems to be connected with Valachians only through popular etymology - it seems that in fact the Slavic name Vlašiči comes from the name of the old Slavic deity Volos.
** Slava ("celebration") refers to the feast day of the patron saint of a family or a corporate body; the word refers to a set of traditions peculiar to the Serbs, Vlachs and some other ethnic groups in central Balkans.

The party also used a different flag (photo) that incorporates the sunflower and stars pattern as well. There is also a flag with yellow field (photo), with a small blue canton, which probably also displays the sunflower and stars, and the inscriptions and border in blue.
