"Norrvatten (English: Northern Water Board) is currently a kommunalförbund (English: municipal association) established on November 11, 1926 (it was originally called Stockholmstraktens vattenverksförbund (English: Stockholm Treaty Waterworks Association) was formed between the suburbs Sundbyberg, Hagalund and Stocksund (now part of Metropolitan Stockholm), (amended by kommunallagen (English: Municipal Law) (1991:900) and currently owned by 14 different urban municipalities in the northeast sector of Stockholm. Its task is to produce and distribute drinking water of the highest quality and ensure that the water reaches the customer in a secure and efficient manner at the lowest possible cost. Norrvatten's highest authoritative organ, the federation's council, determines the price of the water every year payable to the municipal alliance upon delivery from the federation's
pipelines."
