Ahlu Sunna Waljama'a (Somali: Ahlu Suna Waljamaaca) (ASWJ) is a Somali
paramilitary group consisting of moderate Sufis opposed to the radical
Islamist groups such as Al-Shabaab in Somalia. They are fighting to
prevent the imposition of strict Sharia and Wahhabism being imposed on the country
and protecting its Sunni-Sufi traditions and generally moderate
religious views. This group was established in 1991.
On 15 March 2010, the Somali transitional government and Ahlu Sunna Waljama'a
signed an agreement giving the militia control of five Ministries, in
addition to diplomatic posts and senior positions within the national
security apparatus. In exchange, the militia would lend military
support against al-Shabab.
On 18 January 2014, Ahlu Sunna Waljama'a's leadership objected to the
new Cabinet lineup named by federal Prime Minister Abdiweli Sheikh
Ahmed. ASWJ Chairperson Sheik Ibrahim Hassan Gureye argued that many
of the new ministerial positions went to unsuccessful officials from
previous administrations, so the outcome of their reappointments would
likely be the same.

Quoting the Kulmiye Party website:
"The party was registered in May 2002, and ran for the December 2002 local
elections, winning enough votes to become one of the three permanent political
parties in Somaliland."
The "Somaliland Center" website, 30 March 2008, shows the flag of the Kulmiye
Party ("Xisbiga Kulmiye") as divided green-yellow by the ascending
diagonal. There is a long article, written in Somali, below the image.
While this flag seems to be the official one, there is no consistency in flag
use by the party, as shown by images from the party elections, 29-30 March 2008,
available on YouTube, showing (at least) two
variants in use, divided yellow-green by the descending diagonal and divided
green-yellow by the descending diagonal, respectively.

The Somali Youth League (SYL) (Ururka Dhalinyarada Soomaaliyeed in Somali
and عصبة الشبيبة الصومالية in Arabic) was initially known as the Somali Youth
Club (SYC). It was the first political party in Somalia
and played a key role in the nation's road to independence during the 1950s and
1960s. It was established on 15 May 1943 and was disbanded in 1969 after a
