Presentation of the New Turkey Party

The New Turkey Party (Yeni Türkiye Partisi - YTP) was founded on 22 July 2002 by İsmail Cem. He was minister of Foreign Affairs, then in the Democratic Left Party (DSP). In 2002, he left the DSP with half of the deputies of the party and founded the YTP.
The party merged in October 2004 with the CHP.

Flag of the New Turkey Party

The party frequently changed its flag in the beginning and at last decided upon the one shown above. It is made of a red sphere of white stars with the words Yeni (in blue) Türkiye (in red) below the sphere The image shown above was drawn after the party website (no longer online).
