Çaykur Rizespor (Çaykur Rizespor Kulübü; website) was established as a professional football club in 1968. The club's name was changed from Rizespor to Çaykur Rizespor in 1990, when the tea-producing company Çaykur became its main sponsor.
Çaykur Rizespor has been playing in the First League since 2013.

The flag of Çaykur Rizespor (photo, photo) is celestial blue with three green horizontal stripes and the club's emblem in the middle. The emblem features a tea plant, as a direct reference to the club's sponsor.
