The current ROC Air Force Academy flag (since 1986?) is the same as the Air Force flag, fringed in yellow, with the name of the Academy in black letters on a white vertical strip near the hoist.

Note that the red letters on the badge on these flags read, from left to right, "Jiangqiao" ("Stoutbridge", an air base near Hangzhou where the Academy was founded). It is interesting to note that when the flag was first designed in 1948 it was standard practice to write Chinese from right to left; the fact that the red letters are written from left to right shows a Western influence which becomes the norm today.

Central Flying School is the predecessor of the ROC Air Force Academy.
Despite its sawtooth fringe and its strip with unit name, this flag could be hoisted onto a fixed flagstaff as well as carried on a handheld flagpole.

The pattern used was that of the ROCAF unit flag 1948-58: Red with the Air Force flag in the canton, the unit badge in the lower fly, and a yellow vertical stripe at the hoist bearing the unit name in black letters. Unlike later versions it had no fringe. Proportions 3:5. Canton being 9/20 the length and 1/2 the width of the flag, i.e. proportions 2:3. Hoist being 1/10 the length of the flag.

It was the flag of ROC Air Force Academy since 1981-86.

Please refer to the following YouTube footage from 1981: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6iWMluxczQ
This flag was flanked by four unit-like flags. Which is why I say this flag was the ROC Air Force Academy flag 1981-86, and others the unit flag.

It was the style of the flags of the cadet units (such as the regiment, the battalions, and the companies) at ROC Air Force Academy before 1986. The badge of the academy was adopted in 1949, so the style might have been used since 1949 to 1986.

Note that the red letters on the badge of this flag read, vertically, "Officers' School". The name of the unit is written in black letters on the yellow hoist.
