The Gonfalon

From the site of Ukrainian Heraldry:
"At the 15th of May, 1998 village council session confirmed a gonfalon by solution № 9: a rectangular canvas with a ratio of the sides: 1:1. In a blue field are the yellow letter "O" and yellow prince's crown with red lining above it. From a staff is a yellow vertical stripe with a width of 1/5 from a width of the gonfalon. The authors are A.Grechylo and Yu.Terlets'kyi."
Dov Gutterman, 27 March 2002

The flag shows the letter "o" under a crown, standing for the toponym, I'm sure. This letter shows the typical glyph shape of traditional russian orthodox lettering, a typeface variant of the cyrillic alphabet.
