Introduction

The American Front was founded in San Francisco, California in 1984, which makes it one of the longest continuously running white supremacist groups in the USA. Beside California, it has been active mainly in Oregon and Florida [1, 2]. Its logo is a combination of Celtic cross and monogram AF, the latter often highlighted by using a different color (white over a gray Celtic cross, all on black field) [2, 3, 4], but may also be conjoined into a single shape, which is how it is depicted on the flag, in light gray (perhaps meant to represent silver) on black field [2]. The source photo [2], although flipped horizontally and rather small, when zoomed in, still reveals a thin white sleeve along the hoist edge, proving that the object is indeed a flag and that its charge is light gray, unlike the charges of the banner above the door, which are either white or dark gray.
