The City of Valley Center has an official city flag: http://www.arkvalleynews.com/web/isite.dll?1610054099560&fbclid=IwAR2_JH1w_1Py3Ri1udcu2NVpu0Tz_c8G91he4Jg3uiC1jZQ-Tmai8gRVfI8

For the first time in its history, the city council on Jan. 5 adopted a design to be used to make city flags. The design was developed by a Valley Center High School student and revised through public input and city council discussions. The flag includes yellow and white rays extending from the bottom left to the upper right on a purple background. In a white circle, "Discover VC" is accompanied by a rendition of a Ferris wheel and the city's birth date of 1885. Ryan McCormick created the design.

Mayor Lou Cicirello said McCormick has made his mark on Valley Center. "Thank you for all your effort and your hard work," Cicirello said. Council member Chris Evans thanked McCormick for his time working on the flag. "I just want to say thank you to Ryan for being here … and for all your time putting this together," Evans said. City Administrator Brent Clark said the city is working with local companies Dove Media and Valley Offset to trademark the design. Cost to have a 3-foot by 5-foot flag made was between $112 and $165 per flag, depending on the quantity. Clark said the city is looking at other size and more affordable cost options.
