Bolton's Wicked Local reported:

The town of Bolton has a new flag and it will soon be hanging in the Great Hall of Flags in the State House in Boston. Representative Kate Hogan hosted the official dedication ceremony for Bolton's new flag, an event witnessed by more than 30 residents, including members of the Flag Committee.

The idea was conceived when Helene Demmer and Linda Mauro, along with their sons Eric Demmer and Nick Mauro, toured the State House and discovered that Bolton was among 39 other towns that did not have a flag represented. Together they formed a committee of four and in January 2009 set the wheels in motion. Ideas for a flag design were sought and in May, residents were given an opportunity to choose among three designs. The winning design was inspired by then-eighth-grader Joyce LaBonte's artwork and created by Cassandra Boell. It was unveiled during Bolton's Fourth of July festivities.
