Description of the flag

Divided diagonal blue in the upper hoist over white in the lower fly, the flag bears the town seal in the center.  The seal three shields, each bearing an illustration of a building. The town and state name and date of incorporation are written around the seal. West Springfield is in Hampden County.

Established in 1774, West Springfield is Western Massachusetts 2nd largest town, bordering the Connecticut River on its eastern boundary. West Springfield is the birthplace of the Morgan Horse and the home of the Eastern States Horse Show, one of the oldest in the country. West Springfield is also the home of the Eastern States Exposition ("The Big E"), a state fair for the New England region and one of the largest agricultural fairs in the nation.
