Montgomery Village is a northern suburb of Gaithersburg in an unincorporated area in Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. It is a large, planned suburban community, developed in the late 1960s and 1970s right outside Gaithersburg city limits. The governing body is Montgomery Village Foundation. The flag of this unincorporated community has three vertical stripes of blue-white-green. In the middle of the white field is positioned the symbol of the Montgomery Village encircled by the words "MONTGOMERY VILLAGE". "The widely-recognized logo of Montgomery Village was actually derived from an ancient symbol of friendship. It represents two people clasping hands in peace and harmony.
Kettler Brothers adopted this symbol for the Village in 1966."
