Description of the flag

The City of Newburgh has confirmed that it has a flag, but it has no image, picture or documentation to send me.
Valentin Poposki, 25 March 2010

Two partial views are available at and [in context at]. There is enough to show that the flag is blue with a version of the city seal [possibly not the same exact version on the 2 examplars] and apparently additional gold lettering on at least one.

A black & white image of the seal can be seen at Wikipedia at

For Newburgh flag, it is quite obvious that there are two different flags. One with seal without words "SEAL OF THE CITY OF NEWBURGH, N.Y.", just plain blue in the circle, but it seems that the words "INCORPORATED 1865" are on place. The other one can't be seen well enough - but is quite different with blue letters on yellow, not the other way around. The rest could not be seen.

The flag shown above is described as "1924 - 1st Newburgh flag - to send with Atlantic City beauty contestant"
