The Sons of Confederate Veterans is the largest organization in the United States composed of male descendants of men who fought for the Confederate States of America during the American Civil War (1862-65). Its sister organization is the United Daughters of the Confederacy, consisting of female descendants of Confederate veterans. As might be expected, both organizations draw the greatest number of their members from the Southern United States, although both are national and even international in scope (there used to be branches of both bodies in the UK, although I do not know if they are still in existence.

The Sons of Confederate Veterans is organized into state divisions, and at the end of a very long web site entitled 'The Other Side of the Coin,' a history of the war from the Southern point of view, there is an image of the Georgia Division of the SCV:
