The North Carolina State University Sailing Club is the oldest club on campus and was established in 1954. The sail in the Intercollegiate Sailing Association's South Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association division.

Photographs at www.sailpack.org/2015_old_south_regatta show the wide black edge to be a border, a part of the design. They also suggest that the burgee is slightly longer, in the cloth: Maybe 2:3, maybe even closer to the golden ratio.

It's a triangular burgee with a white before red field, and a black border all around. The division line is angled flyward, but is on average probably in the middle of the flag. At the hoist is a block letter S, with a smaller letter N in its top eye and C in its bottom eye, all three letters red, the letters presumably standing for North Carolina State.
