Presentation

According to its website, the AEBU or Asociación de Empleados Bancarios del Uruguay (Association of Bank Employees of Uruguay) was founded on 5 May 1942 in order to group and organize a trade union for people who work in banks.

Today this trade union represents people who work for banks, co-operative institutions, insurance companies, credit cards companies, and all companies that work for the financial activities.

The AEBU is a member of the PIT-CNT federation of trade unions.

Flag

The flag of the AEBU is blue with the logo of the group at center. The logo is a golden winged torch surrounded by a circle. Above the torch there are nine concentric white and blue lines. This recalls the Uruguayan National Flag. The acronym of the group "aebu" appears in white letters below the logo.
