The town flag was adopted on Nov 1st 1985 by the Notice No 75.
The blue flag charged with the white emblem in the center. The flag proportion 7
: 10
The emblem is a stylized kanji 山元 YAMAMOTO. The circle stands for the
solidarity, harmony and cooperation by the town people. It represents Yamamoto
located in Sendai Bay is developing limitlessly as a satellite city of Greater
Sendai Area in the future like a powerfully turning gear. The upper part of the
center symbolizes leaping bud.
